When you play the same pattern seeking games at home that we played in class, your toddler’s confidence and skill building will grow.

PRE-K   2: We will be using the curriculums this year.  The following are descriptions of the curriculums:

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER: GIGGLES ! — Get ready to  laugh, be silly and hear lots of knock-knock jokes with this month’s learning theme: Giggles. In class use word plays, word puns, and all-around word silliness to boost vocabulary, develop conversational skills, and nurture happy learners.

Families will enjoy playing around at home with the activities in the Home Kit. Preschoolers develop needed expressive skills and sense of humor--gaining confidence in social school settings.

The Giggles Kindermusik Kit contains a 15-page magazine-style Family Guide, Harmonica, and a Home CD.

NOVEMBER/ DECEMBER: DANCE WITH ME !This month, we’ll feature the music and dance of “one-two” rhythms, and “one-two-three” rhythms. In class, we’ll hear real instruments from the ballet and learn a few dance steps, too. Activities like dance, where your child follows a short sequence of instructions, helps to strengthen memory and his ability to follow directions. At home, play the CD in your Student Kit and let your preschooler show you a new step or two.

The Dance with Me Home Kit includes a pair of Lummi sticks instrument, Home CD, Magazine-style Family Guide (includes class story Dance of Our Own).

JANUARY/ FEBRUARY:  ALL KEYED UP! - A piano and a composer, J.S. Bach, helps preschoolers get ready for school this month. The answer is right at the tip of your fingers. The same fine motor skills and hand-eye coordinationchildren need in order to hold a pencil are developed through the special keyboard-playing activities we’ll be playing in class. Learn from the best “hand-eye” coordination composers with music penned from world famous composers, such as J.S. Bach.

All Keyed Up Home Kit includes a magazine-style Family Guide, a Home CD, and a pair of castanets.

MARCH/ APRIL: FEEL THE MUSIC: For preschoolers, expressing thoughts, ideas, and needs to teachers and friends is a necessary skill in school. So in class we’ll help your child learn more about the words that help describe feelings, while learning more about the emotions of others. Your Home Kit includes the same music and stories we’ll be talking about in class to help you open the door to the emotions your preschooler is learning to express.

The Feel the Music Home Kit includes one mini maraca instrument, Home CD, and Magazine-style Family Guide (includes class story The Duel).

MAY/ JUNE::  SOUNDS ABOUNDThis month highlights a new instrument--our bodies. In class explore all the sounds that can be made with our mouths, feet, arms, hands and our entire body!  In the Family Guide, find instructions for instruments made from found objects around the house and play along with the music. This is one of the many ways that preschoolers in Sounds Abound develop an early understanding of technology and how one material can be used to make something else.  Activities in the Home Kit help bring these big ideas home extending the listening, turn-taking, and sound-effect making activities all week lo

The Sounds Abound Home Kit includes a magazine-style Family Guide and Home CD.
